He spent 32 years with the USDA Department of Agriculture working alongside us and other ranches helping with brush control and fencing. After retiring, Rex joined our guiding staff and has been helping us for over a decade. He is not only the most knowledgeable guide you will come across, but you’ll leave here feeling like you made a new friend. If we could clone a guide, Rex would be the man.

Gary & Karen - are both native Texan and longtime family friends of the Kana Family. When they retired, they decided to leave the hussle & bustle of Houston and unwind in the Texas Hill Country. Karen helps out part time when needed. Gary has been our ranch hand and a guide for almost a decade. They are the most fun loving, entertaining, optimistic human beings you’ll ever come across. You’ll want to book more hunting days with us just to hang out with them.

Dustin- was raised in East Texas and has always had a passion for the outdoors. He moved to the Hill Country in 2008 for an opportunity to pursue a career in the outdoors. Dustin works fulltime as a harvester for Broken Arrow Ranch, which provides America’s finest restaurants with high quality free-range venison. Dustin breaths, eats and sleeps hunting which makes him an excellent part-time guide for us. He is extremely knowledgeable, not only with whitetail, but a variety of exotic game. Dustin is the personification of the Texas “good ole boy” who will help you harvest a trophy of a lifetime.

Kelcie-was born on the Texas coast and moved to the Hill Country at a young age. As a child, Kelcie spent many weekends and holidays exploring the hills on the West Kerr Ranch. She knows every nook and cranny of these woods. She is extremely educated in wildlife management, a fulltime taxidermist, and has been a guide for two decades. Her passion is hog hunting and she has spent many sleepless nights chasing those critters. Kelcie is easy going, enjoys taking kids out for their first hunt, and would rather be but hunting & fishing than doing anything else in the world.

Ashley- like Kelcie, was raised spending every spare minute of time on the ranch. After graduating High School, she decided to pursue a degree in Child Development at Texas Tech University. However, after graduation, Ashley quickly realized that the ranch is where she needed to be. Ashley became the public relations representative & booking agent in 2002. She was also a fulltime guide up until her son Cutler was born in 2010. She now helps out part-time with guiding. If you want to book your next hunt with the West Kerr Ranch, Ashley will be your first introduction to our friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff.
