Aoudad

Aoudad Hunting:

The Aoudad, also known as Barbary sheep are large animals with the average male weighing around 200lbs, but they can go from 110 to 350lbs. The female aoudads have horns as well as the males.

The aoudads' first choice of feed is forbs, but they are adaptable, and will easily switch to grass, and when grass is not available they go on to eat browse. The aoudad typically only seen a feeder during the winter months when foods sources are limited. They often flee at the first sign of danger. The hunting method commonly used on an aoudad hunt is spot and stalk. Depending on weather and habitat conditions at the time of your hunt, you may be hunting from a blind and feeder or safari style.

Aoudad can be hunted year round at West Kerr Ranch, however December through February are the best months.

You will need a hunting license. Non-resident hunters can purchase a 5 day special hunting license.
